Okay I’m going to be honest with you guys. I am an App Addict. Whew, that feels better now that I got that off my chest. 🙂
Seriously, I love apps. I don’t know why but I just do. When I hear about a new app, especially one that will save me time, organize me or most importantly, save me money, I download it. Worst case, I don’t like it, I delete it. But I do have one rule, they must be free. And, besides the $1.99 app I had to buy to stop my phone from hanging up on people when I talk to them, I haven’t paid for any.
So I thought I would highlight an app a week. Either one that I have found or one that has been recommended. A few weeks ago I took a poll on the LRWC facebook page so I have that list as well that I am weeding through and trying out.
So, my first app is called Poynt and it works on iPhone, Android or Blackberry. It does just what the name of the app states. Based on your current location it Poynts you in the direction of whatever it is you are looking for:
Here are some of the things it will Poynt you too:
- Gas locator: It locates gas stations and includes which station has the cheapest gas (my favorite part of the app!)
- Movie locator: Tells you the movies that are playing, where they are playing and you can even watch a trailer to decide if you want to see it.
- Restaurant locator: Search by location or by cuisine. There is even a rating to see what others think about the restaurant.
- Weather: Gives you a 7 day forecast
