Update: This may be a YMMV which means that it may not be available at your store.

For Stop & Shop shoppers.  If you haven’t already done so you might want to register your Stop & Shop card online. If you have already registered, log into your account. You may find some goodies in your account online.  Here is what was in my account:

Offers on your card: 3 Free Ears of Corn

Scan it Offers (your store needs to have scanners for these offers):

  • $0.10/1 Yoplait Yogurts
  • $1/1 Pepsi 12 pack
  • $0.50/1 Breyers ice Cream
  • $0.25/1 Sargento Shredded Cheese or sliced
  • $0.25/1 Post Cereal
  • $0.50/1 Pepperidge Farm goldfish 6.6 – 8 oz
  • $0.50/1 Oreos Cookies
  • $0.75/1 Store Brand Paper Pates

Here is a great deal that reader Sue send me to use with the Eggo Scanner coupon. Eggo’s are part of the Kellogg’s Buy 10 Get $10 deal this week:

Buy 10 Eggo Waffles $2.00 each
-$7.50 deducted for Scanner offer
-(4)$1/2 Kellogg’s Eggo or Cinnabon Frozen Item, exp. 9-19 (RP 7/25/10 or 6/20)
-(4)Dollar Doublers (you may need more $$ in your cart to use these)
Pay: $4.50
Get a $10 Catalina
free + $5.50 Money Maker after coupons, scanner deduction & catalina

I’ve never used a scanner coupon for more then one item but Sue said that it takes off the deduction for however many you are purchasing. And you can do it again in another transaction.

Note: I only used 4 coupon because my Stop & Shop only takes 4 like coupons.  If your store is different then you can use 5 for even more savings.

(Thanks Sue!)

I got an email for the 3 free ears of corn + 5% off of my total order. Saturday I loaded up on pantry staples that I had coupons for that expired 7/31.
The 5% came off, but the corn didn’t. I didn’t check my receipt until I was home. It was only $1 for 3 ears, so I didn’t go back for the dollar.

I use the scanners at Stop & Shop for the first time recently. I bought two like items that had a scanner deduction (the Sargento cheese), but it only took off .25 for one of them. This deal might not work as planned–perhaps it depends on your store?

  • Anonymous

Just a comment on the scanners I was told when they first started by the rep introducing them that if you scroll through the savings before leaving the scanner area you get the regular sales for the scanner but if you scroll through a second time it adds bonus items to the scanner.

  • audra wilder

It depends – some items will say Limit One right on the scanner, some say more and some don’t say anything – I always scan at least one more item to see – if it comes up higher you can just remove it from your cart. It will add additional items while you are shopping.

Sorry if this is a stupid question – but what are the Dollar Doublers? I’ve never shopped S&S before, but I’m definitely interested in the Eggo Deal.

Thanks for the great site, i’ve turned a bunch of family members into viewers keep up the good work.

Ihave2XChromosomes –>I find the Dollar Doublers on the flyer I get in my Sunday paper. They are not on the in-store flyers. Hope that helps! Min purch of $15 to use them, though. Sadly (or happily!) I rarely spend that much at S&S!

      • Ihave2XChromosones

Patti -> Thank you! I had no idea what was going on – definitely out of the loop for S&S. We usually just do Shoprite & Wal-mart and on occasion Target. Thanks a bunch for clearing that up.

No prob! I had to chuckle when I saw your user name! I have exit exams this week and one of the questions on one of my exams is “A fetal karyotype is 46XY. This fetus is ___” you’ve reminded me I should be studying, not couponing! LOL!!

  • Patti

Much to my surprise my 3 free ears of corn were just that today! Free I can’t believe it worked without a glitch! AND, in the same transaction the $4 catalina for the ice cream worked too…they almost had to pick me up off the floor! …I did the $1 indiv. Edy’s cups as they were out of skinny cows 🙁 I will go back for more SCow’s later in the week…thinking I’ll buy 3 more Kashi Go Lean Bars and 4 more SCow cups, pay with my $4 catalina from today and tempt fate to see if I get another $3 cat for the Kashi bars and another $4 cat for the SCows. We’ll see if the stars are aligned! LOL!

the scanners sometimes have limits on the # of items it will apply the coupon to- but it will tell you. I have also had it happen that when you reach a certain amount another coupon will appear or when you are going to the register it will ding you with another coupon so be on the lookout for these extra perks

  • Jen

Ok the eggo deal worked like a charm, scan it scharged me 1.25 each used 4 $1.00 plus 4 doublers and got the $10.00 catalina, also did Eddys cups since there was also no skinny cow, got 4 @$1.00 each and got a $4.00 cat, the Kashi bars didnt print a catalina but they gave me $3.00 cash back at courtsey. Perfect deals! Thanks Cindy!

Can someone explain the scanner coupon thingy for the eggo waffles?
Don’t think I’ve used one before (or I have and don’t recognize the name)

    • Cindy

Jean, not all stores have them. They are scanners that are located near the entrance. You use them to scan your groceries as you shop. You need to scan your Stop & Shop card to activate it. Once you do, the scanner will display special discounts for using the scanner. Usually they last for the week and can be used on more then one item in most cases. You can also check online (once you have registered your stop & shop card) to see what your scanner discounts are. HTH

      • Jean

well will ya look at that? I’ve been living under a rock!
We have the scanners at our S&S. I’ve just never used them. And my card is registered, but I just went on and found the whole slew of offers you were talking about. I’ll have to keep checking back. THANKS!

I always seem to have a difficult shopping experience at Stop and Shop! Really wanted to do the waffle deal but needed to find freezer space for 10 boxes. Found a friend who volunteered her freezer so went to the store…did you know that Stop and Shop closes at 11 but the scanner doesn’t work after 10? I got to the store at 10:02. Still haven’t used the scanner. Got the fries and Kashi.
