ShopRite Matchups 1/23 – 1/29

All coupons $.99 and under are doubled in these match ups. If your ShopRite doubles differently, please adjust the final price accordingly. Also keep in mind that these coupon match ups are based on insert coupons found in the NJ, NY area. Other areas may have additional or different value coupons. Only the best value price coupons have been listed here. Make sure to check out the ShopRite Coupon Policy.

Do Not Double Coupons: All coupon match ups below are shown as doubled. Some coupons will state “Do Not Double” on the coupon. This is a YMMV situation.

  • Melinda

I can confirm the scrubbing bubbles Catalina is working! Its buy 3 get $2 off your next shopping order. Here was my deal:
Bought 3 scrubbing bubbles shower foamer (1.99 each)
    Used three .75 off 1 (deduct 4.50)
    Paid $1.47
    Received $2 Catalina
    3 FREE plus .53 money maker! 🙂

    • Melinda

I didn’t mention that I can confirm this works because I did it today. I was planning on getting them for .49 each with my coupons. When I saw the buy 3 get $2 cat sign I was thrilled!

    • Cindy

Oh nice! Thanks for sharing. Checking the price on the foamer for this week. I’m hoping that the Fantastik is included!!

      • Kevin

I didn’t see any shelf tags under teh Fantastik stating it was part of it. Only scrubbing bubbles products.

  • Lynn

For those of you residing near Bucks County Pa, you may want to considering visiting the Sho0pRite of Warminster PA. They are having triple coupon week this week! So a 0.75/1 coupon triples to $2.25 off! However, they have a new coupon policy posted in this week’s circular, which states “the value of a MF coupon will be doubled or tripled for “identical” coupons up to a limit of one (1) item per day.” I’ve never seen this type of limit before. I’m interested if anyone else has a coupon policy printed in their circular…?? The deals this week will be great, but I may have to visit an extra time or two to get the super good deals!

    • Bernell

      That absolutely SUCKS!!!
The Giant in Langhorne, PA does the same thing, which is the reason I don’t shop there! They only double the first one, and the rest are just the regular value….I’m hoping it is only for this week!!!
This is why I now shop at the Shoprite in Pennington, NJ….they double coupons full value…meaning…$.75 doubles .75….

      • Lynn

Thanks for the sympathy… it does stink, but they’ve had a lot of problems with people abusing coupons, so I guess this was bound to happen. I really don’t want to change stores so we’ll see how it goes 🙁

    • Suzanne

So does it mean they will only double/triple ONE MF coupon per day?

      • Lynn

Yes Suzanne, that is what my ShopRite’s new policy seems to be. However, I went over there today and did the Fantasik deal and all 3 of my coupons tripled. So perhaps it hasn’t taken effect yet. According to the policy, it seems that they will only double or triple 1 of the “same” MF coupon per day. Ugh.

        • Bernell

Let’s just hope its for this week!!! Hopefully it is….and I wanted to try out that babysitting service they have while you shop…:-)

    • Arizia

HI there! How do I find out about what SR doubles or triples coupons, do you just call ? I would love to find out, maybe it would be worth the drive, Thanks !

      • Bernell

I have found that the Shoprite locations in PA that I go to (Fairless Hills, Warminster) do not fully double…just up to $1…
The location in Pennington, NJ does…..

  • Kirstine

tried prining this one out –
    $0.50/1 Campbell’s Chunky Soup printable

it is $.50/2 Campbell’s Chunky Soup unless I’m in the wrong link.

    • Julie

I found the same problem just now!

  • Tanya

I tried the Kandoo link and it’s a snail mail coupon, not printable. Also the Rayovac link when clicked says “Page not Found”. Anyone else having any luck with either of these? Thanks for any help!

    • Cindy

Oh okay, thanks for the heads up. I’ll take them off the list.

  • steph

also the ad mentioned the bounty napkins( 3.69) $2.99

  • Jennifer K.

I look forward to this list all week! Thanks!!

  • Lori “G”

The Hefty facebook link seems to have removed the coupon, and the Heluva dip first link has” no more prints left for this campaign” (2nd link is working)

  • Jaci

I can’t WAIT for this list all week! I’m new and learned from u however I dont think my Shop Rite “doubles” as some do. If I have a .75 one I get extra .25. It only doubles to 1.00. So if I have 1.00 coupon, thats all I get. BOO- Anyone from South Jersey that know of one that actually doubles?

    • Aileen

I’m not sure how far south you are, but Hamilton fully doubles (.75 would double to 1.50).

    • Victoria

I am in South Jersey (Sewell) and I don’t think any fully double in this area! There sre still amzing deals to be had, lol!!!

      • Julie

I have the same situation in my Shoprites in South Jersey (Gloucester County Area). They only double up to $1

      • EVONNE

mullica hill and glassboro , do NOT fully double

    • Lisa

      Manahawkin and Waretown fully double.
      Medford doubles up to $1.00.

      • Eileen

waretown doubles face values of $0.99 and less, fully doubles so $0.75 becomes $1.50, but doesnt allow overage, so manually marks the discount down to product price (FREE-but no overage) limits like coupons to 4 per transaction

I regularly split my trip into multiple transactions without a problem

  • Emily

My shoprite doesn’t double at all! Even when they scan a coupon for less than a dollar ,lets say for .75, it stays as .75! That’s it!

    • Kate

I feel your pain. My Brooklyn one doesn’t either.
      Booo! =[

  • Michele

There is an oatmeal cat too.
    Quaker oatmeal (1/21-2/13)
    Buy 3 get $1.00 OYNO.
    Buy 4 get $2.00 OYNO.
Buy 5 or more, get $3.00 OYNO. Fqua

    • Bernell

These are better than free at Superfresh or A&P…
      Quaker Express Cups are 1.00…..use $1 coupon…….FREE……
I wanted to make sure the coupon actually worked, so I used it and it went thru with no problems (coupon says..1.00 off 1 box of Quaker oatmeal)
      buy 4…..get $2.00 catalina

  • Lisa

Just a heads up, I bought 6 Pennsylvania Dutch egg noodles this morning at my store in CT and I used (4) .55 coupons and (2) $1 coupons. The .55 coupons doubled to .99 making them free, no beeps. But the $1 coupons beeped and had to be manually entered.

    • Kirstine

I also bought 4 – my coupons could not work at the casiers line at all – she tried entering the bar code manually. Then I went to the counter and they had to manually overide the double coupon – I still got 4 for free.

  • Marie

I bought the egg noodles this morning, I used 4 and they took off $.99. I forgot something so I went back to get it and picked up another bag and it did not scan for some reason and she would not take it. I was fine with the 4.

    • Lynn

the price plus card will only allow 4 per day that is probably why your 5th one didn’t work. It is a little inconvenient but understandable due to some people clearing the shelves. I usually do two trips two days if there are really good deals that way they have a chance to restock☺

  • andy

0.55 coupon beeped for me. I got Penn Dutch Homestyle 12 oz

  • susan

The shoprite in Manahawkin fully doubles. It’s located right off the parkway. Great store and very coupon friendly.

    • Lisa

This is good to know. I shop at the Bayville store and they are NOT coupon friendly, they go out of there way to be mean! The Lacey shoprite does double coupon value 75 cent coupon is doubled 75 cents.

      • Kristine

I have never had problems at the Bayville store. They have always been very coupon friendly for me.

      • pam

I have never had a problem with the Bayville store…as a matter of fact it’s my favorite store. Maybe you just caught the wrong cashier on the wrong day…

      • Mollie M

I agree that I have had no problems at Bayville, it’s by far my #1 grocery store choice. I did notice lately that the cashiers are paying more attention to the DND’s, but rightfully so. Sorry that you had a bad experience hopefully you’ll give it another try.

    • Kim

SUSAN! I gotta check that Shoprite out! I just was reading along here and realized you told me through Maria about this one in Manahawkin. COUPONERS UNITE! I love it! 🙂

  • Chris

The SR in Warminster has become very unfriendly for coupon use. I used to be able to use my RR from Walgreens there but, no more. I have a feeling if Giant up the street gets permission to put in gas pumps they may change their toon.

  • rose osada

I am also a SR in Warminster shopper. Since they changed owners they have been much more strict with coupons. I am hoping that the limit of doubling only one coupon is for this week only. Just one more thing to remember as I am making up my list!

  • Mathew

I went to SR yesterday and was surprised to learn that they don’t double the Colgate coupons? (was a $0.35 off coupon so thought it would double with the under $.99 rule).

    • Dawn

They started a few months ago making them start with a nine instead of a five. It’s the same for the palmolive as well.

    • melissa

under this one deff check your coupon lately the manufature has listed on it do not double or triple so even if the store does have a double or triple policy they can not if the manufacture states it on the coupon.

  • Kevin

    FYI: Purina catalina redemption
I did the Purina spend $30 get $30 OYNO 9 times over the last 3 weeks. Using the Chef Michaels as my main purchase I spent about $80 to get $270($45 a week over next 6 weeks).
First trip bought 4 cans of Purina Alpo(.80 each) and a lot of meats and groceries.
I rationalized using 1 $5 catalina on each can, hoping for overage going towards rest of order. 1st coupon scanned no problem, rest beeped but the Super Awesome cashier pushed them through.
I think the issue was that they are ‘store’ coupons and only 1 per transaction will be accepted.
I have many trips this week planned(Pebbles cereal, garbage bags). Will try once without buying any Purina, but think it will be 1 catalina per trip.

    • Danielle

thanks for the update…I was wondering on those. I have one set, not 9… 😉 but I’m hoping for overage, too! 🙂

  • andy

Fantastik is indeed on sale 1.99. Did not try it since I don’t have the 0.75/1 coupons.

  • Georgia

I’m not aware of the purina Catalina deal. Please list the details or where I can find it. Thanks!

    • Jen

It took place over the last 2-3 weeks

  • Elizabeth

I used one Purina Cat and did not buy any purina products :o) No beeps so intervention needed.

    • Bernell

Thats good to know!! Because my dog has a healthy stockpile of dog treats, and I really don’t need to add anything else to it!LOL

    • kevin

Thanks. I have a mass stockpiling trips planned using the $5 OYNO
      4 Hefty Bags(.19), 4 Pebbles Cereal (.49), 2 Pop Secret (.50), 3 Scrubbing Bubbles(.49) Total $5.19 plus tax. Use $5 OYNO, pay .19 plus tax.
Get back $2 OYNO on Scrub Bub.
Will try to swing that 5 times. LOL
After 1st order maybe roll the $2 Scrub bub into the mix and get some more popcorn or ‘food’.
I have 5 Shoprites between home and work, so will spread the trips out.

      • andy

Hey, big spender, are you aware that $5 oyno can pay for tax?

      • Jen

I can’t seem to figure out how to get the Pebbles for 0.49, am I missing a coupon somewhere?

        • Kevin

I was missing something, the EXPIRATION date! LOL
They expired 1/16. I used 4 last night and 4 this morning not realizing it.They all scanned but now that I know I guess I’ll eat the few I have left.

  • Melanie

If I may, I would like to help clear up some confusion regarding Shoprite’s coupon policy. Shoprite is known as a co-op, which basically means that each store is individually owned (although certain owners do own more than 1 store). It is up to the owner group to make their coupon policy, so the store I shop in may have a totally different policy than the store you shop in. You just have to become familiar with your store’s coupon policy. However, corporate owned stores, such as A&P, Pathmark (which is owned by A&P), Stop & Shop, etc. are all corporate-owned stores, so their coupon policy is the same, no matter which store you shop in. I hope this helps some of you understand a little easier and I hope I’m not over-stepping my boundaries with this post. It’s just meant to help out.

  • Julie

Am I missing something on the Cracker Barrel deal? It says cost is $2.49 and coupon is $1/1. Wouldn’t final price be $1.49, not $.99 each?

  • Kathy

I did the One-A-Day vitamins deal yesterday. It worked.

    2 – One A Day (7.79) 5.84 with price plus
    2 – $2 coupons from 1/2/11 SS
    Paid – $7.68
    Rec’d $5 OYNO Catalina
$1.34 each after coupons and catalina

    • Mary

Thanks for letting us know. I was thinking about doing this very same thing, but wasn’t sure how it would work.

  • Arizia

my egg noodles coupon didn’t work!!! I live in DE and my SR said that the coupons didn’t have a water bar ( a barcode at the top) so I returned them. Still happy that I saved 50 on my grocery bill 🙂

    • Which Shop Rite in DE did you go to? I shop at the one in Newark.

      • Arizia

Hi Ashley! I went to the one in Wilmington off of 4. Did yours work? What’s the coupon policy, I’m willing to drive for a good deal 🙂

        • Anonymous

I go to the Newark, DE Shoprite and haven’t found it all that coupon friendly. They only double to value $1, so anything .50 to .99 is made to a $1. Plus when I went in last week trying to do the baby food deal with the smart source coupons from the manufactures website they told me the coupons couldn’t be used because they didn’t have a third barcode. I tried arguing that they were direct from the manufacurer’s website, but I guess they are moving in a less coupon friendly direction.

      • Ruth

I shop at the one in Newark, DE too and a couple of weeks ago, the cashiers at the shelf checkout were nasty and told me that they have to enforce the coupon policy of 4 of the same coupons per day. I told them I had no problem with it. They were usually so nice to me, not sure what happened, did they tell you the same thing? I went there today and bought the items I needed, used my 4 coupons and left.

  • Deneen

Went to the Shoprite in Pennington today and they refused the Pennsylvania Dutch coupons saying they did not have a web address or security code on them. They no longer will except IP without them. I have a call into the manager about the full page that prints has the web address at the bottom and would they except that . She will be checking with the district manager. I understand they have to watch out for fraud, It just rots when you have a valid coupon and can’t use it.

    • Bernell

I also shop at the this location…thanks for the heads up!
I used this coupon at Pathmark today and it worked with no problems!

    • Emily T.

Wow, I just used 4 of these coupons in Pennington SR on Sunday night with no problems! They are one of the most coupon friendly stores I have found. Although there is one cashier who I tend to avoid because she loves the DND5 button. (She is the only one).

  • elsee

i was wondering how the Free Microsoft LifeCam (by mail) p&g deal works if you spend $25 does a rebate form print or you just have to send in the receipt? and can you get both?any additional info will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

    • Peg

      Hi Elsee,
I wanted to share that I did the P&G catalina deal today, got three bags of IAMS for our three kitties and a large box of diapers for the local Crisis Pregnancy Center, for over $50. I got the $10 catalina and an order form to get the Free Microsoft Lifecam. You must send in the form as well as the original grocery receipt with the P&G products circled.

Also, I purchased a single can of Friskies for .52 and used the 5.oo catalina from last week. Worked fine!

Between the Friskies last week and the Iams this week, my kitties are good to go for a while! 🙂

      • elsee

@peg Thanks so much for replying that is exactly what i wanted 2 know!
one more q does anyone know if shoprite had the cat deal $5 if you buy tide downy and tide stain release in other stores its advertised till the 29th if so i’m thinking maybe it will double dip?

    • Eileen

it is a rebate from that comes from the catalina machine, I got mine today for buying a box of diapers and it goes off original price not sale price because the box was original $36.99 on sale for 29.99 and I used a $1.50 coupon

you have to send in the rebate form and original reciept with the P&G product circled postmarked by 2/19/11

so funny cause I just bought a webcam last week lol, but free is free so im sending for it ( the one I bought was a cheap one off ebay so maybe this will be better -and not need tape to stay on my laptop lol)

  • Lucy

This deal didn’t work for me 🙁
Buy 1 Old Spice Deodorant $2.09
Buy 1 Old Spice Body Wash
    -(1)$1/1 Old Spice Deodorant
    -(1)Free Old Spice Body Wash
    $0.54 each after coupons

The Old Spice Body Shower is : $4.69 and the coupon specifies only up to $3.99

  • Aileen

I bought the Hillshire Farms lunch meats (buy 2, get a free 6 oz Borden cheese). I didn’t have the .55/1 coupon, but there was a $1/1 coupon on the Hillshire Farms website. There is also a $1/1 Borden pdf coupon:

No problems scanning the Borden coupon even though it’s a pdf.

    • Arizia

Aileen, I was wondering how did that work, if the cheese is already free they let you use the coupon, so it’s a dollar overage? I’m new to couponing and trying to get the best deals. Thanks in advance.

      • Aileen

Many times you can use coupons on “free” items. The cheese rang up as 1.99. The discount line says PC Hillshire & Bor -1.99 (not the same description as when the cheese rang up). The coupon is taken off at the bottom. So yes, in a way it’s a $1 overage.

  • christina mathers

No problems at my SR in Daleville, PA-used 3 egg noodles q’s with no problem. They are very coupon friendly there!

    • kristy

Wow… your the first one that I have seen that uses the same Shoprite… LOL

  • Colton

Hi, I was just wondering with the “$1/4 Campbell’s Condensed “Great For Cooking” Soup printable”, is it specifically the ones with that printed on the label? Because I swear I read somewhere that they worked on tomato, which is on sale for less.

  • Jen

I just want to remind everyone and let the new people know to make sure you have signed up for Shop Rite family Rewards on there website I just got 8.00 off my next order added onto my card from using my points! I always forget about this program. Also register for Continental Airline Miles too, its free and maybe one day you will get a free ticket out of it.

    • Jodi

I have tried a ton of times to register for for family rewards and it never works. It always says it can not find the account, please check you entries. It has been my card number for years. It always shows how much I could be getting on my receipt and it frustrating. Has anyone else had trouble with this? Did you find a way to resolve it?
We do have the continental miles set up and that is great. My dh occasionally travels for work and they usually use Continental. We’re hoping to eventually have enough points to take the kids to Disney.

  • kristen

I found this link for the San Giorgio pasta, $1.00 off two that will be .54 for 2 boxes. The coupon is for ‘quick cook’ but I used it on regualar cook and it worked fine, no beeps.

    • MC

      Thanks Kristen,
      I just printed the coupon.

  • esco

am i missing something on the creamers coupon i register and it tells me that i have to complete the form..which i have 8 times…i cant figure it out?!?!?!?!

    • Aileen

There is a part where you have to tell them how many of each brand of creamer you have bought in your past 10 purchases. Make sure to put 0 for ones you have not bought. If you just leave the dash it won’t accept it.

  • Emmeline

Also, Shoprite has EarthBound Farm salad mix 2 for $5 and here is a link to a coupon for $1 off of one.

  • Kate

Stupid question — on the Borden cheese — the way the website is written it looks like the cheese should also be “buy 2 get one free” even without buying the Hillshire Farms lunch meat. Does anyone know? TIA

    • Kate

oops — I meant circular not website — sorry!

      • Aileen

I think you’re right. When you look at the circular online and type in “Borden” the 6 oz cheese picture shows up and it says “Buy 2 get 1 free”.

        • Aileen

Looks like this doesn’t work. 🙁

  • Bree

Does anyone know if the Poland Spring AquaPod 8 pk is still on sale for $1?

  • melinda

Can anyone confirm the hefty basics is part of the $1.99 sale?

    • Dawn

At my store they are not.

  • MillburnLaura

My store was suddenly trying to not allow Smartsource coupons. The problem is they do not have a website on them. Cashier kept saying they were copies. Luckily the manager accepted them, but I can see the writing on the wall….

    • Ruth

It really aggravates me when the cashier says that the coupons were copied, they did that to me once and I called the store manager, not the front end manager. If the coupons have a watermark, they are not copied and I would never copy a coupon. I told the manager that they are opening themselves to a lawsuit if the cashiers accuse people of basically trying to steal if they are using legitimate coupons. He apologized and told me he would talk to that cashier. A lot of people do copy coupons but they are easy to spot and if the stores would educate their cashiers, it would save the customers and the cashiers a lot of aggravation.

  • Eileen

Shoprite in Waretown will double any coupon thats face value is .99 or less but if the face value OR the doubled value is greater than the price of the item (causes overage) it will beep and they will lower it to the price of the item to make it free, if they are feeling nice they MAY do ONE coupon with overage….

today I picked up 19 bags of the pennsylvania dutch noodles split into orders of maximum 8 bags (4 per variety) and using 4 like coupons (4 of the $0.55/1 and 4 of the $1/1) so that I was within the guidelines (limit 4 per variety and 4 like coupons per transaction)
I woulda got 20 but I lost a coupon -ah well
of my 3 orders of noodles I got a total of .33cents overage becuase they did allow one of the 0.55 coupons in 2 of the orders to go through with overage
    NO complaints here…

  • Beth

I can’t get the Pennsylvania Dutch Egg Noodles coupons to print. All I get is the coupon expiration date printed at the top of the page. Neither coupon will print for me. What am I doing wrong?

    • andy

      Reboot computer and try again

      • Beth

rebooting didn’t work. oh well… (thanks Andy for your suggestion.)

        • Bree

Maybe this is a dumb question but check your printer settings? Are you out of ink?

A few people here have that coupon saved as a PDF … scan through the posts and reply to those offering. Maybe you’ll have better luck printing that way.

  • Christine

Yeah I had the same problem Beth. Guess we’re out of luck with that coupon!

  • Mary K.

I am not finding the Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa or the Peter Pan Peanut Butter in the Jan 2011 ALL YOU. Is it possible they have different versions of this magazine according to region?

Thank you for all that you do!!

    • Cindy

I do know that sometimes the coupons are different in the copies you get at Walmart vs. the copies you get in the mail.

  • susan

This deal worked today. I needed diapers for baby gift.
    Transaction #1

  • MC

There is a $2.00 coupon for Pedigree Good Bites on the site and this week at Shop-rite they are on sale for $2.99. A good deal at .99 for dog treats. I am going back for more.

  • Em

Scottie Facial tissues are 77 cents in the four day sale and there is a $1 coupon in the 1/9 Redplum for $1 off 5 boxes.
Also, at my shoprite, Sabra hummus was 2/$5 so with two $1 off coupons from 1/23 Smartsource they are 2/$3 (I am pretty sure this was not advertised in my circular so was surprised to see the sale).

  • Kathy C

    I did the Poland Springs 3/$10 deal and got a $2 catalina…
Had some trouble with the Pennsylvania Dutch coupons, manager told me they were copies. I had the big manager come out and he took them. I have been going to that store for 40 years, since I was three years old! It’s a shame some take advantage and ruin it for the rest of us.

  • My normally coupon-friendly Shoprite in Chester almost didn’t take my Pennsylvania Dutch noodle coupons. They said they were copied manufacturer’s coupons. But in the end, they decided to take my work for it that I had gotten from the Pennsylvania Dutch website, though they did it very reluctantly. I felt like criminal! Is it possible those were bogus coupons? They did looks a little strange, and there didn’t seem to be a printing limit. Also, they wouldn’t take my sugar-free Pillsbury coupon for the 89 cent brownies. Darn.

Springfield Shoprite told me my penn. Dutch coupons were copied and I told the manager and the “customer service lady” who came to tell me they were copied, that I printed them from the website and she should use the words “looks like” they’re copied … don’t tell me they are copied bc they’re not. I told them that I should work there as the coupon police bc I know what’s good what’s not….its a shame

So my 4 IP Qs were scrutinized today at my “usual” SR where I’ve not yet had a problem. The cashier ran over to customer service with them. I was using 2 of the New York Pita Chip Qs we printed the other day ($3.99 each), 1 Tribe Origins Hummus Q ($2) and 1 Morton Season All ($.60). This was a first for me…having them checked. When the cashier came back they were all accepted no problem but she said that some of the coupons are “looking different” lately and they need to check them. I’m pretty sure the 2 New York Chips Qs had QR (quick response) symbols on them…that symbol you can descramble with the iPhone…I’m guessing that’s what she was alluding to. I’ll ask at customer service next time…there was a long line today that had already waited while my Qs got checked so I didn’t want to stand there and chat with the cashier.

And, just to note, the Morton Season All was on $.99 special in my store so with the Q it was free, FYI.

Just got back from Shoprite, I didn’t notice until I got home but my Red Pack coupons didn’t double, 1 of my 2 Campbells coupons didnt, and 2 of my 3 Fantasik Coupons didn’t. Why in the world would that happen? None of them said do not double and I dont “think” my cashier hit the do not double. My total ended up being a few dollars more than I expected, but I had 2 cranky kids with me and didn’t get a chance to look at my receipt until I got home….I’m pretty annoyed right now.

My shoprite scrutinized my penn dutch noodle and helava good dip coupons, said they were copied and i said i would never copy a coupon because its against the law. So the front end girl took them and wrote my price plus card number on the coupons. I don’t like being made to feel like I’m a criminal. People who abuse couponing are making it hard on others

Seems to be happening a lot lately. I agree…I hate feeling like a criminal too, especially since I am doing nothing wrong!

OMG I’m reading the above comments and I feel better. I just got back from Shoprite with my sister and all my printed coupons were double checked. The front end girl Patricia came over and asked if that was my 2nd transaction? Which it wasn’t – I asked her if there was a problem and she told me that the coupon policy had changed and I could only use 4 of the same coupons in one day – which is exactly what I had. She gave me a copy of the policy and as I scanned thru I saw nothing wrong with my coupons. None of my coupons were rejected and I still felt like a criminal. I was so upset, so when I to put my groceries in the vehicle I realized that the cashier never took my New York chips coupons off my order, so I went back to customer service and complained and got my $7.98. While I was there I took the time to inquire as to why my coupons were always checked and why I was being asked if I had shopped already. Patricia said “I’m only doing my job, and someone told me that you already went thru the register with a purchase.”. I looked at my sister and grabbed her water bottle with the paid sticker on it, and told her my sister paid for 2 waters because we was waiting for the butcher to cut our meat. I know this is a long message but I needed to vent. Once I’m done here I’m going to email Shoprite and I will be calling them tomorrow morning. I never shopped at SR before but since I started couponing and this SR doubles to 1.50 I find alot of good deals there, but I will not put myself thru humiliation that I endured today. It’s just not worth it.

Went to SR last night and got the following catalinas at check out:
    $1 off next produce purchase
    $1 off next seafood purchase
    $1 off next bakery purchase
$2 off 1lb or more of Boar’s Head cold cuts
    Free Lean Pockets Pretzle Bread

Not sure what I purchased that triggered it but wanted to let you all know here.

Wait! Shoprite doesn’t sell boars head! Is that new? If so I am thrilled!

I wish that SR didn’t have such great regular and sale prices because I would be gone in a heartbeat. I had similar problems last night. Unfortunately, I had my 2 1/2 year old grandson who was done with the whole thing by checkout so I didn’t fight it. First, we always use self checkout but I had rainchecks so I needed someone to punch them in. The girl jammed the register, so they made us come to the front end and they continued the order. Then, they brought a manager over to check the coupons. They would not accept the New York Chips couon for 3.99. She said it had to have a “little black box in the upper right hand corner”. It had a pin # but I just told them to take the chips off the order (which I later found out they didn’t) and they confiscated my coupon! They also scrutinized every coupon and checked my bags to make sure I bought the items. The $2.00 per lb of lunchmeat was also an issue. She questioned that I bought the right kind and then took $2.00 total off the order and I had bought 4 lbs of lunchmeat. I also had to go to customer service for catalina’s because they didn’t have a machine on the register they used.
My husband went back this morning to talked to the store manager who immediately said “you have to go to customer service”. No, No, No. My husband says my wife works to hard at this to be pushed off. He got a refund on the lunchmeat and the bagel chips but didn’t address the coupon. Maybe next week because I have another one. Does anyone have written documentation about coupons with PIN #’s? I’d love to pull it out next week when they refuse to take it.

    • Maria

Double check the expiration date on the New York chips coupon, mine expired on the 1/30

Based upon many of the recent comments here and my experience this week I think what I am going to start doing is sticking with one location. I frequently shop at different SR, PM and S&S locations when I try to “bundle” my trips to save gas. I’ve found that sometimes I can have a difficulty when it’s not my “usual” location and, I’m just guessing here, the staff doesn’t recognize me. For some reason, I also find that items don’t ring through at the sale price quite frequently and I always go to Customer Service and they always accomodate so they know me at the desk too. (Tribe Origins hummus this week rang up incorrectly = free hummus!!) I’m not sure if this is the case, that if they recognize you they are less likely to examine the coupons, but it’s kind of been my experience.
