My Extreme Couponing Shopping Trip

You can see by my before photo, that my Extreme Couponing Shopping preparation makes a bit of a mess.  And, that was only one side of it.  There is another table with just as many coupons and inserts spread all over it.

My family knows when I’m doing a bigger shopping trip.  The scissors are out, it looks like my inserts exploded and there are little pieces of white copy paper overflowing from the garbage pail.  They leave me alone during this intense period of preparation.  Or maybe they are just afraid that if they come in the room, I might ask them to help clean up the exploded coupons.  Hmm, come to think of it, I think that might be it.

But, they are always happy with the after shopping result.  As am I.

Here is what I picked up at ShopRite and Pathmark.

You are MY COUPON HERO! I did a trip to the very bare local Rite Aid today. They did give a rain check on a couple of things I was after. They even made sure I could get the Edy’s icecream for .99 when they restock (since could have recieved the sale price plus $2.00 +UP if they had it this week) I had coupons from the Rite Aid Video Values so feel like the trip was a success. Maybe next time the trip to Rite Aid will be worth documenting. My ShopRite trip last Sunday yeilded well. I typically spend 250.00 a week. I used 95.00 in coupons, and OOP expense was 143.00. I also left with 5.00 in Catalinas. I am new to the couponing (I think this was week 4 or 5 for me) so my husband and I were left amazed and excited! I have never enjoyed shopping so much in my life. It has always been a major chore now this makes it fun!

You are my example to follow. As Lisa S. I never liked grocery shopping, I despised it! but I’m love it now!!!! he he

  • Christine

I totally agree with Lisa and Lucy. I hated grocery shopping, and now I look forward to it to see how much $$ I can save. Thanks so much!!

Do the chex coupons double, even though they say do not double?

    • Cindy

Yes they will double. All coupons that start with a 5 will double regardless of what they say on them.

  • Marnie

Wow, I wish we had a shop rite here in okie. Great job!

    • Lisa S

Marnie, I am a “displaced Okie” have been in New Jersey about a year now! (and lovin’ it) I think the only stores in Oklahoma that double are the Homeland stores. (o:
