Reader Shopping Trip: ShopRite

The links in the post below may be affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

I wasn’t going to post a shopping trip today as I usually keep them for Monday through Friday.  Also, when I do post them, I try to keep them to trips that are current.  This trip is for ShopRite and the sale ends today.  However, I am a FIRM believer that things happen for a reason.  I have always been that way and I tell my kids that ALL the time.  Especially when they are struggling with something.

Well, then why am I posting this trip?  Well, because my whole weekend got messed up because of issues I was having with the site last night.  My intention was to get my drugstore deals and ShopRite done last night so that I could relax a little today.  That is not what happened.

Having spent a very long time, into the wee hours of the morning, I finally got the site working properly.  However, none of the deals were completed.  Then this morning I find out that Grandma Anna, my 95 year old grandmother, was admitted to the hospital.  No worries, she is doing much better and is just staying for observation.

So, with little sleep, a bunch of deals to do and visiting my Grandmother, I was a bit grumpy, tired, cranky, and everything in between today.

And, then….this email pops into my inbox from a newer reader, Anita:

Dear Cindy,

I started clipping coupons around the middle of Jan in an attempt to be a better shopper in 2011 with no clear-cut idea of how to go about it.  A couple of weeks ago I stumbled onto your website and saw all the buzz about the Quaker deals at Shop Rite.  Needless to say, I had no quaker coupons, but I thought I would try and score some free grits anyway.  So I googled around for the nearest Shop Rite, located it and armed with my new Price Plus card, I bought 5 boxes of Quaker grits. With my heart pounding, I walked to the checkout mentally telling myself that I could always go to customer service and return it if that so-called catalina did not print.  Lo and behold, it did, just like you said it would!!  I went back and tried it again, and the same thing happened!  To cut a long story short, a couple of days ago Iarmed myself with my shopping list and coupons (btw I had no idea that one could print coupons off the internet until I read the section for ‘beginners’ on your site – LOL).

This is my first purchase using coupons (pls. see attachment for pic).

And, I read the email and I remembered why I love doing this everyday! 🙂
