Reader Shopping Trips: Target & Giant

Sarah saved nearly $120 on her trips to Target and Giant.  This is what she had to say…

I had such a great time shopping last night I thought I’d send it in. Thanks for all your hard work!!  I took a trip to Target and Giant last night, and I thought I did quite well. The cashier scanned the $0.30/gallon for spending $50 coupon from the ad (my total was still over $50 after the instant savings), but it does not appear to have credited me the points. I will be contacting Giant to hopefully have that fixed. That would bring me up to $0.50 off a gallon!  I spent $41.20 total at Giant, and my total savings (including sales and coupons) was $118.98, a savings of about 65%!

    Hi Sarah,
Just a thought and of course I’m not a doctor. I took Zyrtec for many years for my allergies all year around and it worked well for me. One day I went shopping at Target and they were out so I tried Target’s UP allergy brand. It works exactlly the same way for me and it’s much cheaper. I no longer purchase Zyrtec.

When Giant has there gas savings coupons, I always ask friends/neighbors if they are using theirs. If combine and have more than one transaction over $50 (after savings), you can use more than one coupon. I had two this week, and saved an extra 60 cents off gas and now have over 90 cents off (with other deals.)

Target brand Cetirizine is the same medication as Zyrtec. Generics are legally required to contain the same type and amount of active ingredient as their name-brand counterparts.

Dont forget the Hasbro rebate for free pizza.

What is the Giant “magic” coupon machine? I am a bit mad at my Giant, most of the catilina machines are not working! ANd if you dont ask them about it, they will not tell you to go to the service desk and have them print some for you!
