Extreme Couponing Tips

Here are some tips on how to be a TRUE Extreme Couponer

This week’s tip is:

::Think Outside the Box

Sometimes we get stuck in our ways and don’t think about other creative ways we can save money on groceries.  Here are some tips to get you thinking of different ways to save money on your groceries besides just using coupons.

::Buy Toilet Paper at an Office Supply Store

Well, that is just an example but my point is, most times you think of running to one of the warehouse stores like BJ’s or Costco to get  your TP.  But, sometimes, you can find great bargains on TP on places like Staples and Home Depot.  So be sure to keep an eye on creative ways to save money on items you wouldn’t even think of purchasing at that store.

::Try New Products

I know a lot of us like to stick to certain products and that is fine, however, if an item is free, give it a try.  You just never know if you’ll like it until you try it.  My family has fallen in love with a lot of products we would have never tried unless they were free.

::Saving on Meat

You don’t have to just buy meat from the grocery store.  Consider shopping around for a local butcher.  Some times, if you buy large enough quantities, you can get a great price and a better cut of meat.  Or consider buying half a cow.  You can find places in your area that offer that option by asking around or asking your butcher.  Even call some local cattle farms if you have them in the area.  You can split it among family members or friends.

::Saving on Produce

Consider joining a CSA.  How this works is you are actually buying shares in a farms produce.  Once you are a member, you can pick up a box of produce every couple of weeks.  Make sure to check out a CSA in your area.

::Join Rewards Programs

Programs like Swagbucks, Recylebank, Pampers Gifts to Grow and more can earn you points that you can use for gift cards, items and even coupons.  I don’t have a baby but I do the Pampers Gifts to Grow to earn points for things like a $10 Gift Card to BJ’s.

::Keep Your Eye On Daily Deals Site

Sometimes there have been great deals on discounts for Organic Produce, Meat and even grocery stores on sites like Groupon, Living Social and more.  So be sure to sign up for your local area so you can get daily deal alerts.

How about you, what creative, outside the box ideas do you have to save money on groceries?
