My Shopping Trip: ShopRite

I had a bit of a crazy week this week getting my son off to college.  If you follow me on Facebook, you would have heard that I prepared 20 meals for him so I did a lot of cooking.  And the great thing was that almost everything was out of the stockpile (pantry & freezer).

So, with all that going on, I really had no intention of going to the grocery store.  Honestly there was nothing I really needed.  But, the deals at ShopRite were just getting better and better as the week went on and I couldn’t resist making a trip.

For this deal I paid $6.27 out of pocket, used $7 in previous catalinas and received $11.75 in catalinas back.  So, the whole trip only cost me $1.52!  And, if you are doing the Truvia Deal, be sure to look for $0.55 off peelies on the boxes.  I’ll use mine next time as my printable coupon was better then the peelie coupon.

Here is what I did:

ShopRite Transaction :

  • (4) Perrier Water – $1.49
  • (2) Truvia Natural Sweetener – $3.29
  • (4) Nature Valley Granola Bars – $1.88
  • (7) Keebler Cookies -($3.69) $0.99 <– I opted for 7 because I only had 3 coupons.  If you have 4 coupons, then buying 8 is a better deal.
  • (2) Smart Balance Butter – $1.99

Coupons Used:

Paid: $6.27
Received: $0.75 catalina (Perrier), $4.00 Catalina (Truvia), $2.00 Catalina (Nature Valley), $5.00 Back to School Catalina (Keebler)

Total Savings including sale prices and coupons: $63.62 which I will be adding to the LRWC Reader’s Grocery Savings Counter.  Be sure to add your savings so we can see how much we have all saved in 2012

Here is an update to my Grocery Budget:

  • total in envelope as of 7/31: $183.91
  • $10.40 shopping trip on 8/2
  • total in envelope as of 8/2: $173.51
  • $23.75 from various trips
  • Added $150 to envelope on 8/3
  • $22.02 shopping trip on 8/7
  • total in envelope as of 8/7: $277.74
  • $0.78 Shopping Trip on 8/8
  • total in envelope as of 8/9: $276.98
  • $6.27 Shopping Trip on 8/16
  • total in envelope as of 8/17: $270.71
