Does anyone know the difference between the H&R block free edition and the one you buy? I usually go there but I feel confident I can do it this year but I do not know what software is best.

usually the free ones are if you are filing the 1040EZ (ie: no itemized deductions like mortgage interest, etc.) *I am not a tax expert by any means, but have done my own (with software help) for the past 10 years.

On a sort-of related note – I have to update my Quicken (which I usually do with a rebate in conjunction with Turbo Tax purchase to save some $$) but just found Quicken WAY cheaper on quill.com (an office supply company) $19.99 with free shipping! 1% back on shop at home. So that + Tax Act (cheapest around if you have deductions, etc.) makes this the best deal!

I prefer TurboTax (Deluxe with state). Amazon is usually the cheapest price…but I am going to try price match with Target this year. Has any one tried their new price match policy? Did it go smoothly?

What’s the difference in turbo tax deluxe from amazon and turbo tax from Costco, other than price? First time doing this…Tia!

The Turbo Tax comes in two versions: one is just for Federal filings( I believe its’called ”Deluxé”) whereas the other version is for Federal and State filings (I believe is is called ”Deluxe plus State”).

The items posted are not comparing the same versions. Turbox Tax Deluxe with State is the same price at Costco and Amazon, $39.99. So just check the versions when comparison shopping.
