What’s happening in NJ this weekend ? Here are some great free or inexpensive activities to do with your family over the weekend! It’s always nice to have a plan!

Saturday 1/4/14:

National Geographic Kids Club

Cost:  FREE
Description: Learn in a fun, interative setting with National Geographic activities and games that focus on discovery through play. This month’s theme is “Winter Fun”.  Plus, get free carousel rides until 11 AM, prize drawings and lots of fun!
Location: Freehold Raceway Mall, 3710 Route 9, Freehold, NJ
Time:  9 am until 10:30 am

Home Depot Kid’s Workshops

Cost:  FREE
Description:  Home Depot workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.  All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin.  This month’s project is a fun desk calendar.
Location: all Home Depot locations
Time: 9 am – 12 pm

Sunday 1/5/14:

The Birds of Winter

Cost:  $3
Description: Discover the many species of birds that reside locally throughout the winter. Play games, hunt for birds on a walk, and take home a pinecone birdfeeder craft.
Location: Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center, 247 Southern Blvd., Chatham, NJ
Time:  2 pm

Weekend Craft

Cost:  Free with admission
Description:  We have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season! Make a special card for someone to show that you care and always remember to say Thank you!!!
