Money Saving Mobile 2015

The following Money Saving Mobile  2015 are the Top Apps picked by LRWC to save money on food, clothing and much more!

We live in a day where there’s really no excuse for neglecting to save money.  Not only do we have the traditional form of savings through a wide variety of insert and printable coupons readily available to us, we also have many new and exciting mobile “apps” you can download to your smartphones for an additional simple way to save money!

It would be impossible (for me at least) to master every single mobile savings app there is out there, however if you can take advantage of even just one, I think you’re doing pretty good!  Have fun with it and involve your family.  If your child or teenager really has been nagging you for a smartphone, tablet, iPad, etc., agree they will get one if they commit to using their smartphone to help save the family money.  For more ideas on how to involve your family in couponing check out last week’s Extreme Couponing Tip!

Wow! Tons of ways to save. Thank you 🙂

  • Jenn Clarke

Another Good One I have found is Cart Crunch. You scan your reciepts and it puts them on file and gives you price comparisons for the items that you usually buy for all of your surrounding stores.

  • Harry

there is also the coupons dot com app which you can use to clip ecpns. I posted about this in the SR matchups comments, but for some reason, my comment is not appearing. You can load ecpns for SR though not all coupons shown are loadable to SR card (they are for other store exclusives). Not sure if you can stack with the SR and SS ecpns, but certainly gives a second shot at ECPNs if you have already used the SR/cellfire/SS coupons. For instance, this week I got Dove and Safest Choice ECPNS in the app and was able to load them to my SR card though I got and used the same eggs e-coupon from SR last week.

    • Harry

I can confirm that this works. I used it for the Safest Choice eggs (I had already used my SR ECPN for the eggs last week and it was gone from my account after which I clipped it in the coupons dot com app this week). Today I bought the eggs and also used the 0.75 off IP which doubled. The final price on the eggs was 0.75 OOP of which I will be submitting to Checkout 51 for another 0.50 back.

I also have 6 pack of Dove soaps in my order for which there was an SR ECPN as well as 0.75 IP as well as the coupons dot com app coupon. The ECPN did come off for this as well but only once. (Note that I had clipped SR first – not sure what would happen if I clipped SR last as we usually do with SavingsStar).

There is a Simply Orange ECPN available now in the coupons dot com app which should make these a better deal next week.

double coupon checker app for ios devices. tells you if you can expect a coupon to double at the register. i have a secondary use for it, though. sometimes my printed coupons have misaligned barcodes, which can cause scanning problems at the register. if the app can read the coupon, i am reasonably assured that the register will also.

the shopkick link leads to “page not found ” I have been searching for this app since changing phones and have not see it in app store 🙁

  • Harry

Ibotta has new offer for cereal and milk. And it allows me to upload receipt from last weeks SR cereal deal even though the offer came out today 1/15. Appears that the window is 1 week from before the date you click the offer in ibotta as well. I was under the impression that its from the date forward but it appears its ok for 1 week backward as well!

Ipad and iPhone printing coupons. Are there any FAQ’s for setting up the installers for the coupon websites? Thanks.

  • Lesley

There was an update yesterday, 6/25/14, for Ibotta. Now my app won’t stay open on my iPhone or iPad. Anyone else having a problem?

    • Catherine Marie

Yes … it won’t let me open the app on my android. Very frustrating.

      • Lesley

It works for me now. Hopefully it is working for you too.

  • Harry

Not sure if this anyone else has posted this before, but I want to confirm that I was able to complete an ibotta rebate with the SR digital receipt. I had to download the PDF version of the receipt and open it on a tablet (the app will not scan from the vertical computer screen and need the phone to be facing down and flat for all receipt scans from the phone). After getting a third reset for the so del yogurt which I got yesterday, I lost the receipt somewhere on the way home and just thought I would try the digital receipt. It took a little longer for the approval to come through, but it did approve. Only the PDF version has the SR logo properly displayed on it and the date and time can also be seen easily.

    • DJ

Thanks for the update Harry. I missed many a rebates because of lost/misplaced receipts. If I understand correctly, you basically take a picture of the digital pdf receipt (that you opened on your tablet) using a smart phone. Correct?

      • Harry

yes, but you do not take a picture of it as it is first displayed when you click on the receipt. I used the save as button which then saves it into a pdf format which looks a little more “official” than what gets shown on the screen. Then open that PDF on the tablet and scan it with ibotta app on the phone.

        • DJ

Thanks Harry! Will try it the next time and report back.

  • Jennifer

There is also this “Specials” app which is pretty useful. You can find food and drink coupons in there. I saved some money with it.

    • Dolores

I would like to find out how to get fre e coupons
