Toilet Paper Prices
As many of you already know, we have an awesome Toilet Paper Stock Up Price List to help ensure you are getting the best price on your TP.
Over 2 years ago, I had been knee deep in toilet paper rolls for a couple of months as I looked up sizes, shapes, ply, prices and tested (yep just what you think) all kinds of toilet paper. If you never realized it before, there are tons and tons of size packages, plys, mega rolls, double rolls and more. It was not the most excited time but I came out of it quite the expert on toilet paper. Is that a good thing?
So, why did I do this? That my friends, is a good question.
If you know me, I’m all about empowering smart shoppers to save! So, having this list allows you will go forth and become Toilet Paper Price Masters, never to fall for the wrong stock up price again! Because trust me, it’s easy to do. One stock up price per roll just doesn’t cut it since there are so many variables.
After 2 years I knew it was way past the time for this list to be updated. And, boy was I right. Sizes have changed quite a bit. And not in a good way. Like so many of the packages these days, they shrunk. And some by as much as 21% smaller.
Here is a summary of the differences from 2 years ago:
- Angel Soft Double Rolls – 12% smaller
- Charmin Ultra Strong – 14% smaller
- Charmin Ultra Soft – 9% smaller
- Charmin Basic – remained the same
- Cottonelle Clean Care – 18% smaller
- Cottonelle Gentle Care – 10% smaller
- Cottonelle Ultra Comfort – 15% smaller
- Marcal 1000 – 4% smaller
- Marcal Small Steps – Remained the same
- Quilted Northern Soft & Strong – 21% smaller
- Quilted Northern Ultra Plus – Remained the same
- Scott Soft 1000 – Remained the same
- Scott Extra Soft – 10% smaller
- ShopRite 1000 – Remained the same
- ShopRite Very Soft – Remained the same
- Up & Up (Target Brand) – 12% smaller
The biggest different was in the Quilted Northern Soft & Strong packs with them being 21% smaller. The brands remaining the same were Charmin Basic, Marcal Small Steps, Quilted Northern Ultra Plus, Scott Soft 1000 and Shoprite brand.
Shrinking products aren’t just isolated to toilet paper as you can see from this video from ABC News, which was filmed over a year ago. It’s happening across many products. Consumer expert Edgar Dworsky, brings you some of the latest products hit by downsizing. Included in his list is, you guessed it, toilet paper.
