Sargento Recall

Sargento Recall

Sargento Foods Inc. announced yesterday that it was recalling certain Sargento cheese products, specifically those made with colby cheese.  The announcement came after concerns over Listeria monocytogenes contamination  were identified at the manufacturing facility by a Sargento supplier, Deutsch Kase Haus, LLC.  There are no confirmed illnesses.

Routine, random testing by Tennessee food inspectors at the Deutsch Kas Haus, LLC facility found Listeria monocytogenes in colby cheese and has triggered recalls of a variety of Sargento, Meijer and Amish Classics cheese products.
