Can this be done twice in one transaction and get the $5 off twice? I was thinking of getting 6 shredded cheese and 4 string cheese.

    • there is no “Limit 1” Stated but YMMV and remember ecoupons often count against your total so if you have any attached to your card make sure you account for them

      • Fiona

I bought 6 shredded cheese and 4 string cheese in one transaction, and for some reason I had four $5 credits come off. The flipside was that I couldn’t use all my coupons or the credits reversed themselves. I spent $9 instead of the $12 I was anticipating, so I’m happy regardless. Just confused why this happened.

        • IK

did i read this correctly – you should have gotten 2 $5 deductions, but got 4? TIA
edit: did you buy something else that may have had IS?

          • Fiona

I only bought the cheese, the 2 freebies, gala apples, and ice cream.

          • Lesley

It would be interesting to know if this happens for anyone else.

        • Charlotte

Wow! Interesting! How did you know the credits were getting reversed? What Sargento coupons would not go through? TIA.

          • Fiona

All the coupons scanned and went through just fine. My total went down to $6, but after my cashier totaled it, it went up to $26. She noticed this and removed my paper coupons one by one until the credits went back on.

            • Charlotte

How crazy! Thank you for the info!

        • MisterBill

Maybe you had a $5 off $15 or similar on your card? Those will get applied and then disappear. Does the receipt show all of the credits being for the cheese?

          • Fiona

I threw out the receipt already, unfortunately. I don’t remember there being a $5 off $15 e-coupon, but I suppose it’s possible. But is it possible I had 2?

  • MisterBill

I don’t have any of these coupons so I won’t be doing the deal. But if you do and do deal #2, it should be better than free after S* since there is a $3 WYB $15 as well as 50c for each of the Balanced Blends items.

  • IK

there is a .75 sargento ‘blends’ slices on smartsource zip 30033 – they are part of the sale.

    • Lesley

Hopefully my store will have them. Are they a new product?

      • IK

looks like a new product. be careful – the coupons beep, and need to be manually entered. that may affect your IS. I did two transactions in two different stores – both times I took the coupons to CS. At one store I was given back $6 for 4 coupons, at another – I had one package, went to CS with one coupon – and was told it did not double. Curious to hear what your experience will be…I did not check the doubling app prior to my trip, and dont have any printed to check now…

        • Lesley

I will check the coupons with the app later tonight when I am home. If they don’t double, I doubt I will do this deal.

          • Laura D.

Our 1/28 SS had $1/2 coupons in it, hth! I’m also going to check the 1/14 SS as stated above for the $1/1 coupons that D mentioned.

            • D

It’s a full page w/ the pictures of the products on top and coupons on the bottom. There are 4 separate $1/1 coupons all w/ exp. dates of 4/8 – 1 for Balanced Breaks, 1 for Sweet Balanced Breaks, 1 for String Cheese & 1 for the Snack Bites.

              • Laura D.

My 1/14 SS definitely doesn’t have it. I looked thoroughly through the 2 SS I have for that date. I have the $1/2 and the $3/10 Savingstar, so still free! 🙂

        • D

I was planning on doing Deal #2 and Deal #3 on Thurs.- buying 5 Balanced Breaks and then in another transaction going 4 String Cheese – I have $1/1 versions of these coupons from the 1/14 SS which are oddly not mentioned anywhere as even being possible versions of the coupons.
Should there be any issues? Does anyone else have the $1/1 versions of these coupons – would like to know if they are affecting the IS or not going through.
It should come to $5 total for the 5 Balanced Breaks and $5.96 for the 4 string cheese.

          • IK

funny you should mention it – i did have the $1 of the balanced breaks, and one of the transactions i did involved purchasing 4 of those. That was at sco. Two of the coupons went thru, the other two beeped!!! I just took them to CS, did not want any interference to affect IS.

            • Lesley

The app says they will double.

              • IK

Thank you…grr..I knew she must have not scanned the card, was rushed …oh well

          • Laura D.

Lucky! I don’t have that one.

  • Laura D.

Help please! Has anyone ever frozen cheddar slices or shredded cheddar? Has anyone ever frozen slices/shredded cheese other than mozzarella? TIA! I’m trying to buy ahead for a few family get together’s and would love to know if these cheeses would hold up after freezing. I plan on serving them cold, the slices cut up with crackers, the shredded on top of dips, etc. I don’t plan on melting some of it for use. I would think if it is worked into a recipe and melted it would be okay. Any help is greatly appreciated! TIA! 🙂

    • Lesley

I’ve frozen bags of shredded cheddar cheese cheese before (Sargento, SR brand, Borden). Most times I used it for melting, like in tacos (I bake them in the oven with the meat and cheese) and other dishes. But I don’t see a problem if you used previously frozen shredded cheese on top of dips. Also, I thaw them in the fridge. I have never frozen sliced cheese, though. Check the dates on them when you buy them. They should have a long expiration date. I put them in my fridge in date order, so I can see what I need to use. I actually have a few in my fridge right now that need to be used before the end of the month! I hope I was helpful in someway! Good luck!!

      • Laura D.

Thanks! I can test one out too when we have a taco night and if its funky I’ll melt it in the oven like you do. Never thought about premelting the taco cheese in the oven with the meat, great idea! I’m not sure if I’ll have the fridge space. With all of these great deals, everything is overflowing here! I’m looking for space!

    • nick hill

I have frozen these slices on several occasions and they freeze well. The quality remains good. Only issue is if they are not individually seperated by paper then the thin sliced is hard to seperate without breaking up after defrosting.

      • Laura D.

That’s a good idea! I can easily put paper in between the slices then reseal the package with my vacuum sealer. I will defrost them in the fridge. This is great to hear!!!

      • Lesley

I’m not a huge fan of Borden cheese slices. They do not put paper to separate the slices and on more than on occasion I have had the slices come apart in pieces and this is without freezing them! I like the Sargento does use paper, much easier to get apart.

        • nick hill

Sagento does for the regular slices but not the ultra thin ones.

    • nick hill

I always freeze bags of shredded cheese (any brand) if there is a fabulous deal and I get more than we need at the time or can fit in our fridge. I put it in the fridge to defrost ivernight and good as new imo.

      • Laura D.

Thanks! I used to be able to have enough room in the fridge, but not anymore. This will be a great new option. 🙂
