Baked Acorn Squash Recipe

This recipe has a lot of different options.. all depends on your likes and dislikes.  Enjoy!

Baked Acorn Squash

Ingredients
  • 2 acorn squash
  • 1/4-1/3 cup melted butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Cut squash in half, lengthwise. Remove seeds and any stringy parts.

  2. Brush cut sides of squash with melted butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in baking dish with cut sides down. Bake for 30 mins.

  3. Turn squash over and with cut sides up, brush 1/4 cup melted butter combined with corn syrup.

  4. Bake until tender, brushing with butter mixture, about 30 mins.

Variations:
  1. Omit corn syrup, baste with plain butter. About 10 mins before done, sprinkle centers with any of the following: small pieces of cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, minced onion, brown sugar, honey or orange juice.
