Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Earlier in the year, my husband decided he was going to make some homemade ice cream. Yes, I am a lucky lady. The man was on a quest. We did try quite a few recipes though and finally came up with one that we are both very happy with. Everyone who has tried it, loves it.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 6 cups half & half
  • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs until light, gradually add sugar; beat until mixture slightly thickens. Add the rest of ingredients and beat thoroughly.
  2. Pour mixture into ice cream freezer and follow manufacturers instructions. Transfer to container when machine’s cycle is complete. You may have to freeze the ice cream in the freezer overnight for it to become firm.
