ShopRite Matchups 8/15 – 8/21

by Cindy on August 14, 2010

Here are your ShopRite match ups for the week of 8/15- 8/21.

All coupons $.99 and under are doubled in these match ups. If your ShopRite doubles differently, please adjust the final price accordingly. Also keep in mind that these coupon match ups are based on insert coupons found in the NJ, NY area. Other areas may have additional or different value coupons. Only the best value price coupons have been listed here. Make sure to check out the ShopRite Coupon Policy.

Do Not Double Coupons: All coupon match ups below are shown as doubled. Some coupons will state “Do Not Double” on the coupon. This is a YMMV situation.

Load up your Cellfire coupons directly to your Price Plus Card for even more savings. New Cellfire coupons come out Sunday so check back for updates.

Make sure to try out the new “Print Friendly” button on the bottom to make your own customized shopping list.

I was in Shoprite tonight and looked at the Blue Bunny Champ cones that will be on sale starting Sunday for $1.25. Well, there was a $1.25 peelie on each and every box of Champ Cones that said “Save $1.25 on this package”. So they will be FREE!! How cool is that? I think they are regularly $3.99, so this is a great deal. I’ll be back at Shoprite early tomorrow morning before all the peelies are peeled off!

Reply

Jamie August 15, 2010 at 8:24 am

The Mint Grasshopper Ice Cream Sandwiches had $1.25 off peelies too. I’m excited!

Could you tell me which papers you buy…I’m not having any luck finding a paper that carries both inserts consistently. I live in Jersey City and get the Star Ledger, but half of the time it only has one of the 2 inserts. Thanks!

Reply

Diane R. August 15, 2010 at 10:27 am

Felicia, for about the past 5 months I have been buying the Jersey Journal on Saturday and it has always has all the Smartsource AND Redplum circulars. I wish I had known about that sooner because I was like you buying the Star Ledger and they stopped carrying the Redplum about a year ago. And the Jersey Journal only costs 60 cents as opposed to the Star Ledger that costs $2.00. So if there are really good coupons it is cheap enough to buy more than one Jersey Journal.

Reply

SJ August 15, 2010 at 11:21 pm

The RedPlum insert is in the Thursday Star Ledger.

Reply

Ueen August 15, 2010 at 9:31 am

Felicia,

I noticed that the inserts are stacked/delivered separately from the newspapers and that the store staff have to insert them in the newspaper. So, before I pay for the newspapers, I check whether it has the complete number of coupon inserts.

Hope this helps.

Thanks – from now on I’ll check!

Reply

ronni August 15, 2010 at 10:09 am

I have noticed that sometimes the Star Ledger has has one type of insert (the SS) and the Tribune has the RP. The Times also has coupons and they are sometimes in different values then the other papers. This is also sometimes true for the daily news. i look at all the papers and try to buy the one w/the best coupon deal .. sometimes that includes buying 2 or more papers. There are tons of extra inserts in the back of stores. If you ask they just might share. They throw them away anyway.

Reply

What deal did you do to get FREE ice cream?

Reply

Bree August 16, 2010 at 9:05 am

Blue Bunny Ice Cream is $1.25 a box this week at SR. Many of the boxes have $1.25 peelies on them making it free! Unfortunatly, people go around taking ALL of the peelies and leaving none for everyone else so I don’t know if you’ll find any at your local SR. My advice, go there early in the AM to check it out.

Hi Raina –

Just wondering, how were you able to use [8] Blue Bunny coupons if you only purchased 4 boxes?

Reply

Raina August 15, 2010 at 4:22 pm

Hi Bree,

My local ShopRite (or at least certain cashiers) allows manu coupons along with any save now peelies (attached to the package). I think it really depends on the cashier, some allow expired coupons also.

Reply

Bree August 15, 2010 at 4:27 pm

Did you beep at all? I thought they were both considered manufactorers coupons – very interesting!

Reply

Raina August 15, 2010 at 4:30 pm

Not at all. I actually had a problem with the $.20 save now peelies on the Cabot Cheese because they did not peel very well and wouldn’t scan as a result. So a manager came over and scanned all of my coupons to ensure they were all working. No problems whatsoever.

Reply

Cindy August 15, 2010 at 4:36 pm

That is interesting because technically the peelie coupons are also manufacturers coupons. Most stores will not allow this because they will only get reimbursed for one set. If your stor knowingly allows this then that’s a great deal for you.

Reply

ronni August 15, 2010 at 4:31 pm

I was thinking the same thing about the blue bunny. the peelie would have to be a shoprite peelie that you could stack in order for this to work. Unless there is something in the coding of the Q’s that is not screening them right via the register. Well hopefully we will get a response and end this mystery.

Reply

Raina August 15, 2010 at 4:36 pm

Both coupons say manufacturer coupon but my store always allows combos as long as one is stuck to the package and says SAVE NOW. I guess they consider it a bonus coupon…???

Reply

Cindy August 15, 2010 at 4:39 pm

Everyone is going to be visiting your shoprite lol. :)

Reply

Bree August 15, 2010 at 4:40 pm

Maybe they consider the peelies to be SR coupons, thus allowing both? I have not seen the peelies in any other grocery stores, so they may be SR specific.

Anyone else able to use both?

Kristin, not sure where you are located but SR in Northern NJ took mine last night no problem along with a big stack of other Qs. Didn’t even blink which surprised me since it was a hi value Q. He was, however, changing shift and the next cashier was waiting there with her till so maybe I just got lucky. Was unsure about this product as I’ve never tried it but for .99cents….Try a different location…good luck!

Reply

steph August 15, 2010 at 6:41 pm

i have to say, i am so disappointed with some dishonest couponers out there. i went to my shoprite tonight for the blue bunny. there was a clerk there organizing the ice cream, i asked if he saw any with the coupons on them, he said he did earlier, there was someone there taking them all off, and then the person walked away when he tried to say something to them.
anyway, that is stealing. and it is wrong. and it is not fair to the rest of us.
and seriously, you were already going to get them for free, why wouldn’t someone just buy the ice cream. what good is the coupon?
whatever. i am so frustrated.
thanks for all the deals though, love your posts cindy!

Reply

Raina August 15, 2010 at 7:01 pm

I too had the same problem. I had to search through the fully stocked Blue Bunny freezer case to get the only 6 peelies (I used 4 and my friend used 2 for her purchase). What a shame. Maybe you could try another ShopRite in your area…

Reply

steph August 15, 2010 at 6:47 pm

just noticed the blue bunny catalina
so is that just on the regular ice cream for 1.99 or is it with the novelties too? and for the ice cream that would be like .33 each after coupons and catalinas?

Reply

Raina August 15, 2010 at 6:59 pm

I also wondered the same thing. I bought 4 Blue Bunny Novelties and did not receive a catalina, so maybe it is just on the actual Blue Bunny Ice Cream Tubs? I don’t know, maybe Cindy could clarify for us!!! Thanks!

Reply

Cindy August 15, 2010 at 7:04 pm

Oh gosh, sorry guys, that is on the wrong one. That was for the Ben & Jerry’s not blue bunny. My fault. We moved my son into his dorm yesterday and I was trying to finish the match ups in the car on the way there and back and I kept getting car sick from being on the computer while in the car so I apologize for the errors this week. Yikes. Lesson learned…don’t try to do ShopRite matchups in the car :)

Reply

Claire August 15, 2010 at 7:16 pm

Cindy – just wanted to thank you for all that you do! I saved $33 today at my shoprite trip and got $5 in catalinas towards my next purchase. You rock!

PS @ Kristen – they did take my $3.00 chef requested coupon but they took it to Customer Service to verify it first. (That was the fist time that happened to me at my store here in PA.)

Joanie S, I know they have several products and I actually bought the bacon wrapped filet, not the bacon wrapped chopped beef burgers. I thought the filet wasn’t half bad even though I’m not a big bacon fan. Good flavor and texture.

i didn’t see it advertised in the circular but my shoprite in ct has pints of Starbucks ice cream on sale for $1.99. There was a coupon recently in smartsource or red plum for $1.50 off a non-coffee flavor or $1.00 off any coffee flavor (I clip coupons each week so I don’t know which insert it was). I was able to get the strawberries and cream for only $0.50!

I think they have changed their BOGO coupon to be for Feta cheese now.

Is there a listing of the current catalinas somewhere? Like with the dial catalina I was wondering what else you could buy besides the Purex and Softscrub. Thought if there was a website with all the current catalinas they would also have the products listed.

The dial catalina is listed right in the circular. Any other unadvertised catalinas are listed here. http://www.livingrichwithcoupons.com/category/catalinas

Also on sale, Hood Simply Smart milk $2.49 – there is a printable for $1.00 off one. So not bad for 1/2 gallon of milk for $1.49!
