Can I pay for my purchase with a gift card and still get the $10 promotional GC?

Reply

Kristi December 7, 2011 at 10:25 am

I don’t think so. It says giftcards and tax will not be included in determining purchase total

Yes, you can pay with a gift card and still get the $10 gift card.

Reply

Jessie December 7, 2011 at 12:19 pm

That means that you cannot purchase a gift card & use the coupon, not that you cannot pay with a gift card.

Thanks everyone. I didn’t realize that you could and was able to use $20+ in gift cards.

Guys, if your purchase does not come to $50, you can buy a target gift card for any amount (i.e. your purchase is $43, get a gc at the register for $7 = $50) then you can get the $10 promo gc. I know I will eventually use that small $7 gc but not buying a/t right now in excess and getting $10 back :)

Toby, I think the coupon states that gift cards don’t count toward the $50…at least that is what it stated the last time I printed one. I have the same question, however, about using a gift card to pay for the $50. Can I use the $20 in giftcards I got last week from this promotion to pay for $50 in items and still get the $10 giftcards? Has anyone done this?

Last week I used a $10 gift card I had received earlier in the week to pay for my purchase. When you reach the $50 mark and they scan the coupon a screen pops up on the register and at this point they issue the $10 card, then they can continue on scanning your coupons and at then end you can pay your balance with your other gift cards or what ever type of payment you wish to use. Hope this helps.

I got a gift card with the last coupon and got the $10 GC on top of it without any problem.

Tomorrow iPod touches are on sale for $195 with a free $25 gift card.

Can I combine that sale, with the 10% off ipod printable coupon, and this coupon? That would net me the iPod for $140.

Chris December 7, 2011 at 11:21 am

Replied to this. Don’t know where the first post went. I thought you could use both the 10% off Apple I Pod target coupon and the $10 target gc coupon wyb $50 but, you can’t. On the 10% off Apple iPod target coupon it says limit 1 man. and one target coupon per item. You wouldn’t be able to use the $10 target gc coupon.

If a purchased a small second item would this work? Potentially allowing the gift card coupon to tie to that other item?

Chris December 7, 2011 at 11:42 am

My Taget is strange about coupon use, i.e. not allowing me to use a coupon when it says any variety of a certain product and wanting me to use it on the item pictured. Another time I accidentally gave two coupons stuck together for 1 item and when I got home and checked my reciept both coupons where applied to the item. You could always try it and see what happens.

Similar to what was reported below, I was able to use both coupons on an iPod. Ended up getting an iPod classic, and used the 10% off and the 10 gift card coupon. Did not purchase anything else.

If you purchased another item(s) =$10 the Q could attach to it should work. so say you buy the Ipod, 4 curels, and a candy bar.
use the %10 Ipod Q (TQ)
the 4 Curel Q’s (MQ) and the 10/50 Q(TQ) .
I would suggest having them put through the ipod, then the 10/50, then the curel.
you would pay 181.51(plus tax)
you would get back the following GC:
$25 (ipod)
$5 (curel)
$5 (curel)
$10 (10/50)
as long as the coupon has something at $10 to attach to it should work.
and the curel and gum will even out the $10 and non attached item.

Thats my thinking. :)

If anyone tries a deal involving the Ipod and the 10/50 Q- let us know what you did.

Just my I-pod deal

Just got an amazing deal at Target West Windsor, NJ. For the next 3 days Target is running special sales on certain items only. Check your own Target if they are running the same sale. I just picked up an 8gb I Pod touch. The price is $195 with a $25 Target gift card back. I used a 10% Ipod printable Target coupon and a $10 off of $50 or more Target printable that Living Rich with Coupons posted yesterday on their site. The total with all coupons was $140.50. This IS an amazing deal. Can’t find it lower than $184 elsewhere

Score! I printed this coupon last week and forgot it expired on Saturday. I’ll definitely make a point of going this Saturday to use this one.

Does anyone know if I use a visa gift card to pay if that would effect getting the $10? I tend to think not, just because they run like a regular credit card and the register probably wouldn’t know the difference right? I have a couple from a Verizon phone rebate and I’d like to use them up.

Jessie December 7, 2011 at 12:21 pm

No, how you pay shouldn’t matter. They will scan your coupon and issue the gift card before you pay, so your method of payment won’t have anything to do with it.

I scored big time last week with this, you have to hit 50.00 then you use this. Then pay using whatever method you have, I had 40.00 GC to my total at the end was 11.00 and I walked away with 20 in GC for this week. This reset is perfect I have a baby shower coming up, so I plan on getting aggressive with these.

There are Johnson Gift Packs on sale for $4.49 (reg 9.99). The pack has baby lotion, bubble bath/wash, head-to-toe wash, all full size. And there’s $3 printable if you search “Johnson Gift” in the database. I’m thinking going back tomorrow to buy two more!

I was able to use last week’s $10 gift card on $50 purchase coupon for previous purchases, by asking for a coupon adjustment at customer service. This new coupon says “not valid on previous purchases” I didn’t notice if last week’s coupon stated this. Does anyone have one of last week’s coupons to verify this? Or can this coupon be used on previous purchases even if it states on there that you cant? Thanks

I used the coupon last week on a large purchase and the cashier ended up giving me two $10 gift cards by mistake. I thought she was giving me two $5 cards until and went back and used them on another purchase and realized they were both $10. Woohoo!

I printed two coupons one after the other and it came with the same code at the bottom, will it still work if I make two purchases at two different Target stores?? Has anyone tried it? Or should I reprint it using here…will it actually reset? My code ends in 48

Jackier, yes both coupons will work even though they have the same coupon number :)

I really think people need to read the fine print on coupons and the restrictions first and foremost. This site is a great source of information but alot of it gets lost. If people keep hoarding and also misusing and or abusing coupons (i.e. Someone the other day suggested returning items that generated a free gift card), the stores will eventually stop allowing coupon use. please read your coupons first.

NOYB December 8, 2011 at 4:49 am

Nobody is hoarding. If the site allows you to print out 4 coupons limit, then the customer should be able to use them. End of story. Happy couponing everybody!

If I bring my receipt for the large purchase I made on Sunday to customer service with the coupon will they issue the gift card or do I have to return and buy back?

Reply

Anonymous December 8, 2011 at 10:02 am

i think you would have to buy back. i know when i forget to give the coupon they return and have me rebuy the item right there at service desk.

Is this on your total after coupons or before? Like if I bought lipgloss for $3 with a $3 coupon, does this not add to my $50 total for the coupon to give me $10?

Reply

Gina December 10, 2011 at 8:19 pm

Total before coupons. So the first coupon you want to hand to the cashier is the $10 gift card for $50 spent coupon, and it will prompt him/her to give you the gift card, then give them the remaining coupons you have and you are all set =)
