changes to stop & shop and Giant Gas Rewards Coming SoonImportant Changes to the Stop & Shop & Giant Coupon Policies

After the recent changes to the Stop & Shop and Giant Gas Rewards Program, Stop & Shop and Giant shoppers are hit with more bad news. A recent update to the Stop & Shop and Giant Coupon Policies mean less savings with digital coupons.

In the policies, it now states the following:

Digital coupons cannot be combined with Manufacturer’s paper coupons on the purchase of the same item.

Stop & Shop had originally allowed the stacking of digital coupons and manufacturer coupons back in January of 2015 when they made some major changes to their coupon policy. This recent change is, I’m sure, a disappointment for a lot of Stop & Shop and Giant shoppers who had enjoyed the extra savings for the past 18 months.

We have already updated our match ups to reflect these changes.

In the coupon policy, the following information is still listed under Store Coupon Policy:

A paper store coupon, electronic store coupon and a manufacturer coupon may be redeemed on the same item. If the combined value for the coupons used exceeds the price of the item, the item is free. The manufacturer’s coupon will be deducted first, and then the store coupon will be adjusted so that it does not exceed the price of the item.

LRWC will be contacting them in the morning to find out why they have conflicting information in their policy.

The section quoted above has now been removed from the Stop & Shop Coupon policy.  So, it is confirmed that Stop & Shop and Giant will no longer be allowing stacking of digital and manufacturer coupons. According to our contacts at Stop & Shop, they are in the process of updating the registers to not allow the use of both types of coupons on one item.
