Do you love dyeing Easter eggs – buy you’re not a fan of the chemicals you have to use? Try dyeing your eggs with natural ingredients that you can find in your home everyday! Honestly I’ve never heard of or tried this technique, but I think it is worth a try! You can still have your kids color them with markers or put stickers on them after they dry to add a personal touch!

While dyeing Easter Eggs you have to have Peeps! We have some adorable Peeps Recipes that will surprise you!

Some of the natural products you will use to dye eggs: 

  • Beets – Pink Dye
  • Spinach – Green Dye
  • Coffee – Brown Dye
  • Cabbage – Blue Dye
  • Onions – Yellow Dye
  • Blueberries – Dark Blue Dye
  • Tumeric – Orange Dye

How to Make the Dye:

Each Dye Color is made the exact same way just with a different veggie!

  1. Boil 1 Quart of Water with 1 tbl Salt, 2 tbl Vinegar & 2 tbl of vegetable (for desired color).
  2. Let simmer for 30 min and remove from heat.
  3. Strain the dye and let it sit until it is room temperature.
