5 Meals for Under $30 at Target

What’s for dinner this week?  How many times a week do you ask yourself that question!  Check out our menu and recipes for this week.  We are basing our menu on the great deals that you can pick up this week at Target.  Everything can be purchased at Target and your cost will be less than $30!  Our recipes are geared for a family of four, unless otherwise noted. That’s and average of $6 per meal or $1.50 per serving.  How awesome is that!

You might find that you already have some of the items listed on the shopping list in your stock pile so your out of pocket cost will be even less!  Just so you know, some prices may vary at your local Target.

  • Asian-blend vegetables – 12 oz. package
  • Oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken broth – 2 1/4 cups
  • Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Ground ginger – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder – 1/4 teaspoon

The original recipe calls for Minute Rice, but we substituted regular brown rice for our shopping list.

Ingredients you will need for this recipe:

  • Olive Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Onions – 1 cup chopped
  • Ground turkey – 16 oz
  • Oregano – 3 tablespoons *
  • Basil – 2 tablespoons *
  • Bay leaf, whole (remove before serving) *
  • Dried Parsley – 1 tablespoon *
  • Canned Tomato Sauce, no salt added – 2 cups *

* This recipe calls for canned tomato sauce. Since you can get a good deal on the Market Pantry sauces this week, we have added that to our list and omitted the spices and canned sauces. Depending on your tastes and the sauce you purchase, you can omit the garlic and onions from your recipe.
