Unilever Catalina Deal January 2019

Unilever Catalina Deal January 2019 –

UPDATE AS OF 1/28 AT 6:44 AM:  A few people in our ShopRite Facebook Group have commented that they did receive the catalina for the food items. We tried to replicate some of the deals they did but we had no success. Here are some ideas that worked for some.  Idea #1: 3 mayo, 1 Lipton tea, 1 Knorr Sides. Idea #2: 3 mayo, 4 Lipton Tea.

Still no luck for anyone with the HBA products

UPDATE AS OF 1/28 12:52 PM: Barb did confirm the deal working for her. We prepared a post for you to review. We also received info from Laura D (thanks so much Laura) that is important for you to know:

I just got off the phone with Catalina Marketing, Level 1. They are aware the deal is not working at numerous locations. They have put in an “email” to the next level of command but have heard nothing in return as of 12:00 pm. I was told that each “individual Shoprite Store” must call in the problem and report it. Then, they take that store name and location and submit it to the Level 2, and wait for them to go through their process, then fix that particular store

As many of you know, there is a Catalina deal at ShopRite this week on Unilever Products.  There is a deal for HBA products and a deal for food products. The deals are suppose to be, Buy $15 worth of participating Unilever products  and get a $5 Catalina.

Unilever Catalina January 2019

We headed out this morning to test the deal, as we do every Sunday. Unfortunately, the deal is not working….at all.

We tried several deal scenarios to determine what the problem was and came up completely empty. It’s not working on sale or self prices and we also tried different varieties and brands with no success.

One thing I will point out, when we bought the second scenario, from the Based on sale prices for HBA (shown below), they did, at Customer Service, try to scan from their catalina book to push out the catalina. The catalina wouldn’t print even from doing that. They provided us with a ShopRite gift card.

Here is what we tried:

  1. Based on Pre-Price Plus Prices for HBA: Bought 4 Tresemme Shampoo/Conditioners and 2 Vaseline Lotions
  2. Based on Sale Prices for HBA:Bought 4 Tresemme Shampoo/Conditioners, 2 Vaseline lotions & 1 Suave Body Wash. We also did a deal of 4 Tresemme Shampoo/conditioners and 2 Dove Shampoos (just because these were pictured in the ad)
  3. Based on Pre-Price Plus Prices for food: Bought 1 Hellmans Mayo, 1 Lipton Tea Bags 100 ct, 1 Lipton Herbal Tea Bags, 4 Lipton Recipe Secrets
  4. Based on Sale Prices for food: We threw in the towel and gave up at this point.

So what are your options at this point?

  1. If you would like to do the deal right away, then base your transaction on the sale price so you can easily go to customer service and get your catalina (or in this case a gift card…see above). Customer service, at the store, will look at your receipt to see that you met the catalina requirements based on sale price as that is how the store views the offer. Remember, Catalina Marketing, views it at the pre-price plus prices, not ShopRite. I’m not sure, at this point, if Catalina Marketing is actually showing the complete deal on their end right now. Just a heads up, if your store is not tagged, then I would stick to the Tresemme and Dove as shown in the ad. My store was tagged and they still tried to argue it until I showed them their store tags.
  2. You can try to do the deal as we had originally posted and then submit to Catalina Marketing, however, as I mentioned above, I’m not sure how it’s in the system right now at Catalina Marketing. If they don’t see it in their system, they will not process your catalina.
  3. Wait it out. There may just be an issue with the deal in the system on ShopRite’s end or even on Catalina Marketing’s end that just need to be corrected. Hopefully, that fix will be done quickly.

Keep us updated!

Let us know, in the comments below, if you tried the deal and how it went. Please include, what you bought, including varieties, and how many you bought. We will update with a new post once we know the deal is fully working.
