Zero to Stockpile Challenge – What I Bought, How Much I Spent & My Plans for Next Week

Zero to Stockpile

As the Zero to Stockpile challenge starts to wind down, I’m finding my shopping trips to be small and boring because I just don’t need that much. So, I didn’t actually post a shopping trip this week but you can see the majority of items I bought from this list.

For this week, I ended with a total spent of just $60.18 paid out of pocket (which includes the cost of my coupons). I stocked up on the following items. Most were additions to what I already had in my stockpile.

  • Cereal
  • Ketchup
  • Shampoo
  • Mouthwash
  • Lip Balm
  • Body Lotion
  • Laundry Detergent
  • and more

I’m still in need of some items and with one week to go on this challenge, I’m not sure I’ll get them before the challenge ends. However, I’m not worried about it  as they are items I can just pick up here or there until I find a really good stock up price.

The items include:

  • Napkins
  • Tomato Paste
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Foil
  • Band-Aids
  • Dental Floss

What I Gave Up

I’m happy to report that, once again, there is nothing we needed to give up.

How I Shopped

Another super easy week of shopping for me.  I shopped on Monday at ShopRite, Aldi, Walgreens and CVS.  Remember, that might seem like a lot of store to some of you but, I go in with a list and my coupons all prepare and it takes me on 15 minutes to shop at most stores. Probably ShopRite (my main grocery store) takes me a little bit longer at about 30 minutes.

I can shop four stores, including travel time to and from the stores, in less time then it used to take me to do my weekly grocery shopping at just one store (pre-couponing).

My Plan for Next Week

I have $20 in free groceries at ShopRite so I’ll be using that up. My local Best Market has some great prices this week on produce and chicken so I’ll probably do that as well as rolling some of my ECBs at CVS.

Now It’s Your Turn

So, now it’s your turn. How did your week go? Did you have goals you wanted to reach? Did you reach them? Did you stock up on some important items your family needs? Did you challenge yourself with any new challenges or any of the ones I posted during the past two weeks?

What You Might Have Missed
